I often meet people who get frustrated with their instrument because it feels like much more effort to create the desired sound. Sometimes, they think their playing technique is at fault. But in most cases, this issue can be easily resolved.

It might be as simple as needing new strings. Other times, the soundpost inside the instrument may have shifted by just a millimetre, or the bridge could have moved or warped slightly.

In general, I can only provide an accurate quote after seeing and inspecting the instrument in person.
